| This house was commonly known as the Roth Home, but when it was first built, for Capt. Henry Roeder, it was called Elmheim. His son-in-law, Charles Roth also lived in it. It was located at the corner of Elm and Monroe streets. The home was designed by William Cox and was finished in 1856. It was one of Bellingham's finest homes. Sadly, this home was torn down in 1956 after a hard fought effort to move and save it. The land is now the site of a motel. |
