Parents and students are encouraged to drop by the library and check out books any time during the school day!

Students at Silver Beach meet once a week with Mrs. New to learn library, research, or tech related skills to support classroom instruction. They are able to check out books during that time as well as read magazines or books quietly.

Our mission is to ensure that students are effective users of ideas and information.

We support students and staff in many ways:

Reading Advocacy
Teaching Information Skills
Managing Information Resources
Managing Technology

Books are due in a "timely" manner. Most of the younger children return their picture books each week to get new ones. Our older students, reading novels, may need more time. Our goal is to get kids comfortable with reading and to take the time they need to really finish a book.

We have a wonderful collection of over 20,000 books. There is truly something for everyone!
