Design an Electric Car |
Now is your chance to show what you have learned in our science unit on magnets and motors.
Each team will design and build a car powered by an electric motor. The car must be able to move unassisted. Good luck!
The following materials must be standard on all vehicles.
- styrofoam hotdog box
- 1.5 volt battery
- electric motor
- small pulley
- No. 16 rubber band
- 4 "Push-Up" platforms
- 2 sturdy, thin straws
- home-made switch (see materials)
- coated hook-up wire

- battery holder
- cardboard, approximately 2" x 3"
- plastic "pony" beads
- hot-glue gun
- drinking straws
- electrical, masking and transparent tape
